Residency Types

Casting Artist

This Traditional Artist-in-Residence program is designed for creating a single project or product. This residency offers artists the opportunity to delve into the intricate shapes and forms within their chosen theme, fostering experimentation and pushing the boundaries of possibility. The Casting Residency provides access to exploration that might otherwise be inaccessible, offering space for artists to refine their practice. At the culmination of the residency, the Casting Artist will present their work in a final showcase for the community.

Molding Artist

This Teaching Artist-in-Residence program focuses on creating a collaborative art piece while nurturing other artists and community members. This residency involves leading a series of workshops centered on knowledge-sharing and fostering connections within the local community. The process of creating a mold unfolds in three stages: planning, execution, and presentation. As a Molding Artist, you will bring your ideas to life in three dimensions, shaping raw materials into objects of beauty and significance. Throughout this Artist in Residence experience, both artists and community members will collaborate to transform raw materials into meaningful works of art. This process melds technical expertise with creative vision, allowing Molding Artists to explore the potential of the chosen theme through form and texture. Once the project takes shape, it will be “removed from the mold”, unveiling the collective effort and craftsmanship showcased in a final presentation.

While the Molding Artist may present individual pieces, the primary focus remains on the larger collaborative work produced by the group.
